Overview
Wind Energy Taiwan Seize business opportunities in wind energy
According to statistics from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), the global offshore wind industry is expanding rapidly, with the market expected to more than quadruple in size over the next 10 years. Taiwan’s offshore wind industry is at a pivotal turning point. Despite ongoing policy adjustments, it continues to show strong long-term growth potential, with cumulative installed capacity exceeding 3 GW and Taiwan maintaining its position as Asia’s second-largest offshore wind market.
According to GWEC, cumulative global offshore wind capacity has already reached 83 GW and is expected to rise sharply to 441 GW over the next 10 years. Growth is projected to be particularly strong from 2025 to 2029, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 28%. Annual new installations are forecast to exceed 30 GW by 2030.
The Taiwanese government is also advancing the “Taiwan 2050 Net-Zero Transition—Key Strategies for Wind and Solar Power” action plan. Through a three-stage policy approach—“demonstration and incentives,” “potential areas,” and “zone development”—it is steadily expanding offshore wind deployment. With a policy target of 40–55 GW of installed capacity by 2050, Taiwan’s wind energy market offers significant growth potential.
Wind Energy Taiwan, the Taiwan International Wind Energy Expo, delivers maximum business impact for exhibitors. Its comprehensive wind energy sourcing platform helps companies connect with Taiwan’s wind energy supply chain.
